News:
Dear Mr.Stover,

I wrote this for a school assignment.  I thought you might like to send this to people that did not finish the Megatransect to cheer them up.

In most contest, the winner is the person who finishes first. The Megatransect is not that type of contest. The Megatransect is a 24.9 mile course that is a test of endurance, physical and mental strength. The course is designed to challenge all athletes. The Megatransect begins by following a road for three miles. Then comes the Jump Up which is almost 1,000 feet elevation change. After the this comes the link to the Boulder Field. The Boulder Field is an uphill climb over huge boulders. Once this obstacle is defeated, it is down hill to Zindel Park. At Zindel Park food, water, and medical attention are available. The Ridge and Gorge Trails are next. These trails are rugged and challenging at this point in the course. The Power Line is the last struggle. Then the road to the airport seems endless. With the course almost conquered, all physical and mental strength is running low. You have come this far: you can’t give up now.

The Megatransect is a very grueling challenge for any athlete. In order to finish, you must train for the worst. On the course, be sure to sustain your physical strength by drinking plenty of water, and eating what is necessary. Your mental strength is harder to sustain. You must believe in yourself and overcome you doubts. Even if you don’t cross the finish line first, you are still a winner. Your reward is pride and a great sense of accomplishment. You have overcome the rigorous tests of the Megastansect and of Mother Nature.
