| The Bald Eagle Mountain Megatransect is a challenging 24.9 mile endurance hike/trail run in central Pennsylvania. The course will take the entrants up and over Bald Eagle Mountain - a number of times. Total elevation gain is over 5,000 feet over an extraordinary course. | The Megatransect is designed to appeal to the hard-core trail runner, dedicated hiker or those reasonably fit persons out for a real challenge. You will be given 11.5 hours to complete the course. Runners' times will from 3.75 to 6.5 hours. Hikers are likely to take 6 to 9.5 hours. Those that do a bit of jogging in the easy sections should be somewhere in the middle. Although timed, the Megatransect should be considered more of a personal challenge rather than a race. |
